A little history lesson

the story begins on a likely rainly day in england, September 17, 1982, when the clash wrote a skinhead anthem entitled "Straight to Hell." the song wasn't really what one might expect from a skinhead anthem, but what would one expect really? they didn't have kottonmouth kings back then.

Now lets jump forward some many years to 2007 when M.I.A.'s Kala was released, and another gem
is found for kids everywhere to get all gangster to, Paper Planes.

and kids everywhere became hardened ganst.... they made dances, really shitty dances.

worse?

Worst?

But hey, aside from the terrible dances, people did some really rad remixes, some with star power!

Then it got huge with the release of pineapple express, which featured the song in its trailer.

And M.I.A. got pregnant, you can't get mad at that. (Oct. 2008)

Then it got intense. hits radio stations started givin you "you heard it here first" paper planes, over a
year late. next thing you know every one and their mom was on that song.

and finally in mid october 2008, La Fonda released her remix, a remix so terrible that it pushed the
producer of PPRPLNS, Diplo to pronounce paper planes dead. i initially though it may have been
premature, but he was right to kill it when he did. just listen, its below the picture

and so there you have, a history lesson on your favorite song and perhaps future prom anthem for
years to come. goodday.
